Joining Farm24 to share our passion for egg production

Humphrey Feeds & Pullets shares 24 hours in farming on social media

Farmers across Britain have faced challenges over the summer, but it did not stop them uniting in a social media event to show the public how much passion and commitment go into producing the food we eat.

Organised by Farmers Guardian and sponsored by Morrisons, this year’s 24 Hours in Farming digital event took place in early August. Here’s a quick taste of what Humphrey Feeds & Pullets shared with their followers on Facebook and Instagram during the 24-hour campaign.

Humphrey Pullets

We are a point of lay pullet supplier, rearing day old chicks to 16 weeks of age, at which point they are transferred to the laying farm. Our team of experienced poultry specialists work with poultry farmers to ensure that the birds are reared to suit their requirements, then are on hand to assist with delivery and to settle the birds into their new environment.

Alison Colville-Hyde, Poultry Specialist for Mid South West delivered a flock of Humphrey reared organic pullets and shared this lively image of settling in to their new accommodation. The pullets have been reared in an environment adjusted to mimic the conditions in the new laying house as closely as possible, to minimise any stress associated with the move. As you can see, the pullets look bright and alert, ready to go out on the range!

Humphrey Feeds

As a specialist poultry feed supplier we have an extensive range of poultry feed diets to match all requirements: we currently produce over 400 different diets offering outstanding benefits for your birds’ performance and welfare.

Our team of experienced Poultry Specialists work with poultry farmers to check on birds’ performance and ensure an optimum feed conversion ratio. By visiting farms and helping keep good records, our Poultry Specialists provide support and expertise that can make all the difference to the bottom line. In this photo James Wilson, Poultry Specialist for Midwest England/Welsh borders is understanding why some flocks range better than others.

Edwin Jones, Poultry Specialist for Mid-West Wales shared this orderly stack of eggs being weighed during his regular customer visit. Systematic weighing of eggs helps to monitor flock performance and allows Humphrey specialists to advise on specific diet changes tailored to that flock. These Humphrey reared and fed pullets are doing well considering they’ve come into lay through a heat wave!

Farm24 promotes British farming

24 Hours in Farming is the agricultural industry’s biggest online event, reaching an audience of more than 112 million. We hope that by sharing some images of what we do, we can help consumers understand that farmers and producers work hard to supply food that is healthy and nutritious.
